Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers, each with a link to the page that covers it properly. If your question is not here, email support@omniburrow.com.

Cost and plans

What does OmniBurrow cost?

A 14-day free trial with no card required, then $9.99 per month. One plan — a trial account and a paid account can do exactly the same things. See Plans, Trial & Billing.

Is there a free trial, and does it need a card?

Yes and no, in that order. Fourteen days, starting automatically when you create your account, with no card on file — so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to be charged for if you stop.

Can I subscribe inside the mobile app?

No. Checkout is on the web app only, because App Store and Google Play rules do not permit an app to send you to an outside payment flow. Subscribe on the web and it covers every device, including your phone.

What happens if I stop paying?

Your data stays exactly where it is — nothing is deleted and no countdown starts.

On the web app, dashboard pages redirect to your account page. On the phone, the app keeps working on its local copy of your herd and you can still read and record; what stops is syncing, so nothing uploads or downloads. Anything you record meanwhile is queued and never discarded.

Export and account deletion keep working either way. Restoring a backup is the one thing that needs an active subscription.

Getting started and importing

Do I need to enter my whole herd by hand?

No. OmniBurrow imports from a spreadsheet, from an Evans Rabbit Register, Kintraks, or Everbreed export, and from photos or PDFs of paper pedigrees. Import first, then add new arrivals by hand — see Migrating In.

Can I import from the program I use now?

If it exports a delimited file, yes. Evans Rabbit Register (CSV or XML), Kintraks, and Everbreed are recognized automatically and mapped for you; anything else — including a plain Excel or Google Sheets export — imports through the generic profile, where you map the columns yourself.

Will importing create duplicate rabbits?

No. Every import ends on a review screen that marks rows already in your herd, and those rows are skipped rather than overwritten. A row is treated as an existing rabbit when its registration number matches, or its ear tag matches, or its name and date of birth both match. See Import Errors.

What happens to columns OmniBurrow has no field for?

They are kept in the imported record's notes, each on its own labelled line, rather than dropped. See the CSV field reference.

Where do I create my account?

On the web. The mobile app has a sign-in screen but no sign-up screen, so create the account first and then sign in on the phone with the same details. See Account Setup.

Offline and sync

Does OmniBurrow work offline?

The mobile app does, genuinely. Your phone holds a complete local copy of your herd, so you can read records, add rabbits, weigh, log health events, run Barn Scan, and even predict a pairing with no signal at all. Everything queues and uploads when you reconnect. The web app needs a connection.

What does not work offline?

Anything that needs the server by nature: pedigree import, the marketplace, the Clover assistant, backup export and restore, account deletion, merging duplicates, analytics, and multi-account transfers. Program CSV import is the exception — it reads your file and writes the records entirely on the device. The full breakdown is the feature matrix.

Will I lose anything I recorded offline?

No. Queued changes are retried with a growing gap between attempts and are never discarded — there is no limit that throws work away. Sync Diagnostics shows exactly what is still waiting.

What is a sync conflict?

It means the same record was changed on two devices before either synced. OmniBurrow merges the fields it can merge safely and stops on the ones it cannot, asking you rather than silently picking a winner. Nothing is lost while a conflict is open. See Conflict Resolution.

Data and privacy

Can I export my data?

Yes, at any time, as ordinary CSV files plus a separate archive of your photos. It is complete, it is readable in any spreadsheet without OmniBurrow, and it keeps working even if your subscription has lapsed. See Backup, Export & Deletion and the export file reference.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Delete all my data empties your account immediately and cannot be undone. Close my account builds you an export first, cancels your subscription at the end of the paid period, and schedules deletion 30 days out — sign back in within that window and you can undo it.

Are my buyers' details shared with anyone?

No. Contacts live in your account, are visible only to you, and are never shared with other OmniBurrow accounts. Selling a rabbit to another OmniBurrow user does not hand them your contact list. See Contacts & Buyers.

Does anything leave my device when I import a file?

Program import reads your file, maps it, and writes the records on the device you are using. The one exception is the optional Suggest mapping with AI button, which sends your column labels and aggregate shape statistics only — never row values, rabbit names, ear tags, contact details, notes, or the file name.

Features

Do I have to record every kit individually?

No. Record a litter as counted groups of look-alike kits — "4 broken black does" — and only give individual records to the ones you are actually watching. You can promote a kit out of a group later. See Kits & Phenotype Buckets.

Does OmniBurrow work out my kindling dates?

Yes. Record the date bred and the expected kindling date is set for you — 31 days later by default, adjustable — along with reminders to palpate, put the nest box in, check the box after kindling, wean, separate males, and re-breed. See Litters & Kindling.

Does it track medication withdrawal periods?

Yes, and it enforces them. Recording a treatment computes a clear date, and OmniBurrow then refuses to record that animal as processed until the date has passed. Getting past it takes a deliberate override plus a written reason, both stored on the record.

The catch: the clear date comes from the withdrawal days you entered on the medication. Leave that blank and there is no clear date and no block. See Treatments & Withdrawal Periods.

Can I print cage cards?

Yes, on both apps, one at a time or as a batch — and the card looks identical either way, because both use the same renderer. The web prints from your filtered rabbits list; the phone has its own print-selection screen and does it offline. Each card carries a QR code that opens the record and drives Barn Scan. See Cage Cards.

Does it support my breed?

Yes — every ARBA-recognized breed and its varieties are built in, and there is an off-catalog option for varieties still in development. See ARBA Breeds & Show Classes.

Is there an AI assistant?

Yes — Clover, on both apps. It answers from your own records rather than general rabbit knowledge: ranking does, suggesting outcrosses, projecting a pairing's inbreeding, telling you what is due. It can also log a weight or a health event, but only after you confirm. It is not a veterinarian and will not diagnose an animal. See Clover Assistant.

What reports does it have?

Six dashboards on both apps — production and does, harvest, feed and conversion, lines and inbreeding, show performance, and health and care — plus per-rabbit profit and loss on the phone, which exports to CSV. All built from records you already keep. See Analytics Overview.

Why is an analytics number blank or marked low confidence?

Because the records behind it are not there yet, and the dashboard would rather say so than guess. Each one reports its confidence and lists what was missing in plain language. Feed conversion in particular needs feed allocated to animals and at least two weights on them.

Can I sell through OmniBurrow?

You can advertise through it. Publish a marketplace listing and buyers find it and message you through a form that relays to your email — OmniBurrow does not process payments or take a cut. Then record the sale in your own books. See Marketplace Listings.

How do I send a pedigree to a buyer?

If they use OmniBurrow, send a pedigree transfer — the rabbit and its ancestry land in their account as live records rather than a picture. Recording a sale with the buyer's email address does this for you, alongside the receipt and the pedigree PDF.

Can I undo a sale?

Yes, and it reverses the whole thing — the rabbit goes back to Active, the sale transaction is removed, each applied deposit returns to Received with its pending money restored, the waitlist entry reopens, and the pedigree transfer is cancelled. See Deposits & Sales.

Does taking a deposit count as a sale?

No, and that is the point. A deposit sits on your books as pending money; the sale later records the full price and the deposit is credited against it, so the same money never appears twice.

Platforms

Is there an iPhone app?

Not yet. The mobile app is Android today, and an iOS version is in development with no date promised. In the meantime the web app works in mobile Safari, though it does not work offline. See The Mobile App.

What can the phone do that the web cannot?

Barn Scan, true offline operation, per-rabbit profit and loss, and sync diagnostics. Everything else is on both.

What can the web do that the phone cannot?

Subscribe and manage billing — which is a store-policy constraint rather than a missing feature — and the analytics overview tab. See the feature matrix.
