Import from Everbreed

OmniBurrow ships an Everbreed profile covering three of its exports: the herd list, the litter list, and the finance ledger. Each is recognized from its columns and mapped for you, including the header variations Everbreed exports drift between — Ear Number, Tattoo, and Tag all land on the ear tag; Mother, Dam, and Doe all land on the dam. Nothing is written to your herd until you approve the review screen.

What comes across​

Export one file per screen and import them one at a time; each file is detected on its own.

Rabbits​

Name, ear tag, sex, date of birth, breed, variety or color, sire and dam by name, registration number, grand champion number, registration date, pedigree weight, breeder, cage, and ownership status.

  • Status is translated to OmniBurrow's own: sold stays sold, butchered or processed becomes harvested, gifted becomes rehomed, dead becomes deceased, and pedigree becomes a reference rabbit.
  • Genotype has no field of its own and is appended to the rabbit's notes.
  • A Prefix column is read as the breeder name.
  • A row needs a name or an ear tag to import; rows with neither are skipped.

Litters​

Doe, buck, date bred, date born, total kits, and died kits — live kits are worked out as total minus died. Everbreed's summary columns (sold kits, survival rate, total weight, average weight, butchered, archived) are kept in the litter's notes rather than dropped.

Finances​

Date, amount, income or expense, category, contact, and description. Category names are matched to OmniBurrow's — feed, hay, and pellets become Feed; vet and medicine become Meds; equipment and supplies become Supplies; entry fees become Show fees; anything else becomes Other. Rows whose amount cannot be read are skipped.

Imported ledger rows are never filed as rabbit sales or deposits. Those categories belong to real sales recorded in OmniBurrow, so your imported history cannot inflate them.

Import your herd first

Import the herd file before the litter file, so litters attach to does and bucks that already exist; and before pedigree import, so extracted ancestors link to rabbits you already own instead of creating a second copy of each one.

Everbreed exports that are not herd, litter, or ledger files — a weight log or a contact list, say — are handled by the generic profile instead. See Import from a spreadsheet.

Export from Everbreed​

OmniBurrow does not drive the other program, so what matters is the file you end up with: a CSV export of one screen, saved as .csv, .tsv, or .txt. Comma, semicolon, tab, and pipe separators are all detected automatically.

Keep the original column names — that is what detection reads. A herd file is recognized by having a name column, a parent column, and a per-animal column such as sex or ear tag; a litter file by Bred/Born plus Total Kits and a parent column; a ledger file by Type, Category, Amount, Date, and Contact together.

Files up to 10 MB are accepted; if yours is larger, export in parts.

Import into OmniBurrow​

  1. Go to Dashboard → Import data and use the first section, Move data from another program.
  2. Drop the Everbreed herd file into the drop zone, or click to browse for it.
  3. OmniBurrow detects the profile and matches breeds, varieties, parents, and existing records, then shows the review screen.
  4. Check the review, then click Import to commit.

The web app imports rabbits and contacts. Litter and ledger files are imported on the mobile app — the web import tells you so rather than importing part of the file.

Review before committing​

The review screen shows exactly what will be created before anything is written. For a herd file:

  • To import — how many new rabbits will be created.
  • Already in herd — rows that matched a rabbit you already have. They are skipped, not overwritten. A row matches on registration number first, then ear tag, then name plus date of birth.
  • Parents linked — how many sire and dam links resolved. Everbreed names parents in full, so a sire stored as Fig River's Taragon still matches a rabbit you keep as Taragon.

Warnings above the list cover unmatched breeds (kept as free text), unmatched varieties (saved as custom), and parent links that were unresolved or matched more than one rabbit. Litter and finance reviews flag their own: litters whose doe could not be found are skipped, and the finance review splits the rows into income and expenses so you can sanity-check the totals before committing.
