Health & Care
The health dashboard is built from two things: the care observations you record on your walk-round, and the medication withdrawal windows your treatments create. It answers "is condition holding up, and what can I not process right now" — it is a welfare and compliance view rather than a mortality report.
The app calls this dashboard Health & Care.
What this answers
- Whether body condition across the herd is holding, improving, or sliding.
- How many animals threw up a welfare concern in the period.
- How many rabbits are under withdrawal today, and how that has moved.
- Who is overdue a nail trim.
The figures:

There is also a daily trend of how many animals were withdrawal-blocked, and the underlying observations are listed so you can read the individual notes.
Rabbits observed is the one to watch beside total observations. Forty observations across four rabbits is a very different picture from forty across your whole herd.
Mortality and causes
Mortality is not on this dashboard, and it is worth knowing where it actually lives so you do not go looking:
- Kit mortality is on Production & Does — total dead kits divided by total born, taken from your litter records.
- Why animals were harvested is on the harvest dashboard, as a breakdown by harvest reason — market weight, cull for genetics, temperament, breeder retirement, health, injury, other. See Processing & Harvest.
What does not exist is an aggregated cause-of-death report built from health events. Recording an illness or a necropsy puts it on the rabbit's history where you can read it, and it is included in a data export, but it is not totalled up into a mortality breakdown here. If you want that today, export and count.
Treatment frequency
Treatments show up on this dashboard through their withdrawal effect rather than as a dose count. You see how many rabbits are blocked now, how many were blocked at some point in the period, and the daily shape of that.
That is the operationally useful view — before a processing day, "blocked now" is the number you care about. For an individual animal's treatment history, look at the rabbit's own health section.
What you must record
- Care observations, on more than a handful of rabbits. The dashboard is honest about coverage, so a fortnight of checks on two rabbits reads as low confidence rather than a herd verdict.
- Body condition on those observations, if you want the average to mean anything.
- Appetite, since poor or absent appetite is what a concern flag counts.
- Treatments with a medication that has withdrawal days set — no withdrawal days means no withdrawal window, so nothing to report and, more importantly, no processing block. See Treatments & Withdrawal Periods.
